As a participant, you are responsible for getting yourself, your bike and your gear to New York City and home from Niagara Falls. Registered riders are provided three meals a day (with snacks along the way), a tent with air mattress and luggage transportation from campsite to campsite. Costs for other services ( shuttles, hotels, etc.) will be your responsibility. To help you plan for your adventure to end cancer, we’ve collected information and resources below.
In past years, we’ve coordinated a shuttle to take riders from Buffalo to New York City on the Saturday before the tour begins. The shuttle loaded at 6:30 a.m. and departed at 8 a.m. from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. More details about this shuttle, reserving your spot, and cost for this shuttle will be unveiled in 2020.
For previous tours, we’ve offered both temporary and long-term parking at or near Wagner College. More details will be coming in 2020!
We’ve offered a convenient shuttle back to Staten Island after the tour for all our riders. The shuttle ran on the Sunday after the finish line. More details on cost and how to reserve your spot will be coming in 2020.
We’ve offered a bike drop off for WNY area riders on the Thursday before the tour. More details coming.
We work with local bike shops to offer a designated shop that you can drop your bike off at to ship it home. More details coming.
Each participant is limited to two medium-size bags and the weight of any single bag may not exceed 35 pounds. We will check your non-essential gear at check-in.
Our staff coordinates the transportation of your luggage during the tour. More details will be released closer to the event dates.
When it’s time to pack your bags and get ready to ride, we’re here to help. Don’t worry about bringing a tent. The Empire State Ride provides every rider a tent, air mattress and camp chair that will be set up when you arrive in camp each day so you can focus on riding and enjoying the beauty of New York State.
Here now are the essentials that we highly recommend you bring to ensure that you have the best ride week experience possible!
