As a participant, you are responsible for getting yourself, your bike and your gear to New York City and home from Niagara Falls. Registered riders are provided three meals a day (with snacks along the way), a tent with air mattress and luggage transportation from campsite to campsite. Costs for other services ( shuttles, hotels, etc.) will be your responsibility. To help you plan for your adventure to end cancer, we’ve collected information and resources below.
A shuttle will be available to take riders from Buffalo to New York City on Saturday, July 27. The shuttle will begin loading at 6:30 a.m. and depart promptly at 8 a.m. from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Please contact the Empire State Ride to reserve your spot on this shuttle. Free, long-term parking is available in the Roswell Park garage. The cost of the shuttle is TBD and will be announced in the spring.
The Roswell Park parking garage is approximately 30 miles from the Niagara Falls finish line; therefore we are offering a free shuttle from the finish line to the parking garage on Saturday, August 3 after the tour.
If you need transportation back to New York City, a shuttle will be available from Buffalo to Wagner College on Sunday, August 4. Please contact the Empire State to reserve space for you, your bike and your luggage. The cost of the shuttle is TBD and will be announced in the spring.
To park temporarily for registration, enter the main gate of Wagner College from Howard Ave. Tell the guard you are with the Empire State Ride. You will be instructed to park in the Visitor Parking Lot. Free long-term parking for the event will be available at or near Wagner College.
You can drop your bike off at the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation (901 Washington St., Buffalo, NY 14263) on Thursday, July 26 from 2 to 7 p.m.

Please contact the shop prior to shipping your bicycle and be sure to allow at least 2 weeks for your bike to arrive and be assembled by the shop. Any services arranged with the bicycle shop are your financial responsibility. Our staff will pick up shipped bikes on Friday, July 26.
If you wish to ship your bike home after the tour we’ll deliver your bike to Campus Wheelworks on Sunday, August 4. You should visit BikeFlights.com to schedule and pay for your shipment.
If you would like Campus Wheelworks to disassemble your bike and pack it for you, please contact them by calling 716-881-3613.
Please note: If you would like to utilize our shuttle from Buffalo to NYC after the ride, we are able to shuttle your bikes and gear on a truck back to Wagner College. If you want to use our shuttle to transport your bike, please call 716-845-3179.
If you are taking the shuttle from Buffalo to NYC on Saturday, July 27, you should bring your luggage with you. We will not be taking luggage during the Thursday bike drop off.
Each participant is limited to two medium-size bags and the weight of any single bag may not exceed 35 pounds. We will check your non-essential gear at check-in.
On Sunday morning, bring all your luggage back to the luggage truck at breakfast time to be moved to the next camp. Once we get to camp on Sunday night, you will have access to all of your bags.
The Empire State Ride is approaching! Time to pack your bags and get ready to ride! Don’t worry about bringing a tent. The Empire State Ride provides every rider a tent and air mattress that will be set up when you arrive in camp each day so you can focus on riding and enjoying the beauty of New York State.
